Abstract:

This online course forms part of the “Mind Makers Masterclass” certificate programme run by the Gründungshub Oberbayern (GHOBB). The course is open to students who have successfully applied for the “Mind Makers Masterclass” certificate programme at their university.
Against a backdrop of dynamic social, technological and economic developments, the Masterclass provides, over two semesters, in-depth knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation, as well as practical experience in interdisciplinary project contexts. The aim of the programme is to enable students to implement their own ideas responsibly, actively utilise entrepreneurial opportunities and help shape social change.
The GHOBB is a joint initiative of the following universities: Technischen Hochschule Rosenheim, Technischen Hochschule Ingolstadt, Hochschule Weihenstephan-Triesdorf, Hochschule für Musik und Theater München, Katholischen Universität Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München.

The aim is to foster entrepreneurial, innovative and interdisciplinary skills amongst students from all disciplines.

Gliederung:

Phase 1: Trend phase (approx. 4–5 weeks)
Phase 2: Scenario phase (approx. 4 weeks)
Phase 3: Ideation phase (approx. 4 weeks)
Presentation / pitch in groups with individual contributions

Detaillierter Inhalt:

Phase 1: Trend Phase (approx. 4–5 weeks)

  • Face-to-face session (3-day block): Participants are introduced to the focus topic and learn fundamental methods of trend research, such as horizon scanning and weak signals detection. Through interactive exercises and keynote presentations by experts, they gain a quick introduction to the subject matter.
  • Work phase: Working in interdisciplinary groups, participants conduct research on their focus topic and analyse various dimensions of trends (e.g. socio-economic, technological) using the PESTLE analysis. Finally, they present their ten most relevant trends as a basis for the next phase.

Phase 2: Scenario Phase (approx. 4 weeks)

  • Face-to-face session (1-day block): Building on the identified trends, participants develop future scenarios (time horizon: 20 years) using scenario techniques. They create a scenario matrix and, based on this, outline various scenarios.
  • Working phase: In newly formed groups, participants explore one of the developed scenarios in greater depth using the ‘Future Persona’ method. The scenarios are presented in multimedia formats to create vivid presentations for external communication.

Phase 3: Ideation Phase (approx. 4 weeks)

  • Face-to-face session (1-day block): In the final phase, the focus is on developing innovative business ideas. Participants take part in an ideation workshop where they learn methods of creative ideation and business model development.
  • Work phase: In newly formed groups, participants develop initial concepts for sustainable business models based on the scenarios developed previously. The concepts are reviewed and optimised to meet the requirements of the future market.

  • Face-to-face session (1 day)

Lern-/Qualifikationsziele:

The ‘Trend Research’ module provides participants with in-depth knowledge of trend research and strategic foresight. The aim of the module is to enable participants to identify significant societal trends and emerging technologies, link these together in the form of future scenarios, and, on this basis, develop initial ideas for sustainable business models. Each semester, a new focus topic is selected to provide the framework for the course. Collaboration with industry partners in the form of so-called ‘challenges’ is a possibility.
